Overview & Highlights

Restaurante Alborada, nestled in the heart of Boiro on Calle Xarmea, is a culinary gem that radiates warmth and authenticity. Specializing in traditional Galician cuisine, this family-run restaurant has earned its reputation as a beloved local institution where hearty, home-cooked dishes are served with genuine care.

From the very first bite, you’re embraced by the rich, comforting flavors of Galicia. The menu offers both a daily selection at a great value and a weekend feast that epitomizes indulgence. The weekday menu, priced around €15, delights with generous portions of classic comfort foods crafted from fresh, local ingredients—perfect for anyone seeking a fulfilling, unpretentious meal. On weekends, the experience elevates with a €35 menu designed to impress: succulent seafood such as their famed “Ameixas a Mariñeira” (clams in a savory marinara sauce), perfectly grilled steaks, and delectable homemade desserts that linger on your palate long after the last forkful.

The dining atmosphere at Alborada is warm and inviting, reminiscent of a family home where every guest feels like part of the household. The staff’s attentive, kindness-driven service enhances the experience—whether it’s accommodating late arrivals with a freshly prepared plate or offering thoughtful touches like sweets for the little ones. Their attentiveness and hospitality turn a simple meal into a memorable occasion.

What strikes most diners is the balance of quality and price, consistently earning praise for offering an unparalleled value in the area. The food is fresh, flavors are bold yet comforting, and the portions generous—leaving you feeling truly satisfied. A bottle of chilled Albariño, a regional white wine, perfectly complements the meal, bringing a refreshing brightness that cuts through the richness of the dishes.

Some guests have noted the restaurant’s charming, rustic decor could benefit from a modern refresh, yet this only adds to Alborada’s authentic character and the sense of familiarity that keeps patrons returning again and again. Whether you’re a local or a traveler seeking an honest taste of Galician hospitality, Restaurante Alborada offers a dining experience that feels both special and deeply rooted in tradition.

For those searching for heartfelt, flavorful cuisine in A Coruña, Alborada is a must-visit, celebrated for its exceptional food, inviting atmosphere, and genuine service that truly feeds both body and soul.

Visitor Testimonials (915)

We came too late and the kitchen was already closed. Staff saw that we are starving and we are desperate so they were so nice and prepared something to eat for us. We really appreciated that!

Great seafood, steak and desserts. It's not the fanciest place, but don't let that discourage you. The food is high quality, fresh, and better than a majority of places I visit in the USA. Make sure to get a bottle of Albariño with your meal!

Calidad y cantidad. Trato inmejorable.
